John White

Regional Safety Manager

John White is the Regional Safety Manager for Emerald Transformer. He started in 2019, bringing 12 years of safety leadership and 17 years of experience in safety roles. John’s main goal is zero accidents and zero harm to Emerald employees and customers.

John visits Emerald Transformer sites and field locations on a scheduled basis conducting inspections and audits for compliance. Among his other responsibilities, he spends time reviewing safety procedures for necessary improvements, and screening COVID-19 events for employees, ensuring that Emerald staff and customers are not affected.

Prior to joining Emerald Transformer, John worked in the pharmaceutical, plastics and architectural-fabrication manufacturing industries. He has received training and certifications in safety leadership and management, RCRA, Wastewater Control, HAZWOPER, TAPROOT Investigation, Emergency Preparedness, Pandemic Preparation and an ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor certification from GA Tech. He was also part of a team that helped a previous employer attain OSHA VPP certification.
His approach to safety is there is always room for knowledge and improvement. You cannot stop gaining knowledge when safety is concerned. He continues to improve his safety knowledge yearly by attending classes and conferences.

John is a proud father of three, Gaelan, Sidonia and Brennen and is also a Veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry.

Since 2012, we have saved $1.1 MM by repairing transformers rather than purchasing new transformers.
