At Emerald Transformer, our employees are our lifeblood. They are the foundation of our business, so we provide employee benefits they can count on.

Medical Insurance

Emerald currently provides employee health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. Three comprehensive plans are available, both encompassing medical and prescription coverages. With a vast national network, our employees have the ability to choose where they receive care.

Employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Supplemental insurance after 60 days of employment.

Dental Insurance

Coverage is offered through MetLife. Two plans are offered with an extensive national provider network and covered services.

Vision Insurance

Insurance provided by EyeMed that offers a wide array coverages and a strong, national network of doctors and vision centers.

Basic & Voluntary Life Insurance

All Emerald Transformer employees receive Basic Life Insurance at no cost. Additional voluntary coverage is available for employees and their family members. The carrier for these plans is Prudential.

Supplemental Insurance

TELE-MEDICINE is available to all employees and their families that are enrolled in one of the group medical insurance plans at no additional cost.

PRUDENTIAL insurance provides Long-Term Disability coverage options.

AFLAC’s Accident, Short-Time Disability, Cancer, Hospital Advantage and Critical care plans are available to employees.

LEGAL SHIELD services are available for employee enrollment. This includes basic legal services and ID protection.


Through the 401k plan, Emerald will match up to 3% when an employee contributes 6% of their income. This benefit becomes active after 90 days of employment for participants 21 years and older.

Vacation & Sick Time

Emerald Transformer employees receive vacation and sick pay annually. Sick leave becomes active immediately upon hire, while vacation is distributed in a tiered structure with a zero to six month waiting period.

Paid Holidays

Employees of Emerald Transformer receive 9 paid holidays per year after 90 days of employment.
